POUR Your self LIKE WINE INTO THE GLASS
Pour by yourself like wine into the glass,
A liquid shaped by glass blown long ago,
Singing each and every year the phrases you know,
Songs that do not modify as your many years pass.
Old glass, new wine new matter, ancient type
Vintages that burst with daily life and joy
Enduring hope no horror can destroy
Ritual that helps make a faith a home.
THE TOMB OF CHRIST IS BUT THE BED
The tomb of Christ is but the bed
He rested on 3 days.
Easter morn He rose once again,
The flower of our spring.
On Him, arisen from the dead,
Have to we, though flesh decays,
Bestow our faith that when we die
Our souls, like His, shall not extended lie
Forsaken in our tomb.
Christ shall, with deep affection, when
He sees our soul’s affliction, then
Redeem us with His discomfort.
In His eternal struggling
Shall we locate grace ample to bring
The seed of faith to bloom.
I Never Count on YOU Quickly TO Love ME
I don’t count on you soon to really like me,
Nor are my very own feelings clear.
Passion is the ornate entrance
To a planet we crave and worry.
We are not able to know where this will consider us,
Nor regardless of whether we will ride for lengthy,
But pleasure is the overture
That flows into the bigger song.
So come with me with open mind
And heart, and we the time will demonstrate
With laughter and with joy unfettered,
And, probably, someday with love.
Element OF Currently being JEWISH IS A Choice
Part of getting Jewish is a selection
As one particular gets to be an act of preservation.
Seders start off the stream of admonition,
Stories meant to bind 1 to the past.
On phrases alone the exiles had to final,
Verses reified by repetition,
Every an heirloom of a generation
Reared to give individuals ancient words a voice.
A Mom SERVES HER SUGAR
A mother serves her sugar with
A bit of peppermint
To clarify the passages
That carry what she meant
When she very first set to bear a soul
Very separate from her very own,
Whom she would cherish, but should teach
To dwell and die alone.
JOY IS NOT A TREASURE YOU CAN Drop
Joy is not a treasure you can lose.
Unless of course you will not, you will be consoled.
Linger with me prolonged as you might pick.
In music as in life no joy is cold.
Undo, then, the tight corset of your grief
So that you may enjoy the moment’s keening.
Give ear to music, eloquent although brief,
Restoring to the miracle its meaning.
Of all we consider and feel and say and do,
So small, actually, should be bound by time.
Still palpable, I am here with all of you,
Musical as ever in this rhyme.
All I was, I am, and but will be,
No significantly less in enjoy, even though in memory.
JOY Needs 1 TO BE AWAKE
Joy requires one particular to be awake,
Adjusting the heart’s ambience to vibrant.
Some prefer the dark, as is their right,
On grounds of agony, and to forsake
Not only bliss, but all that’s blessed by light.
